D9211 is composed of Tanzania and Uganda in East Africa.
In March 2017 the RI President John Germ was in Kampala to Commission the Mengo Hospital Rotary Blood Bank. This was a brainchild of PDG Emmanuel Katongole in order to bridge the gap of shortage of blood in Uganda which was 100,000 liters annually.

This is the first private and only second to National Blood Transfusion Center in the Country.
PDG Katongole and DG Ken Mugisha mobilized funds from Rotarians, Cooperate Bodies and from the Rotary Foundation. This will go a long way in saving lives of people who would have died due to lack of blood.

Its now five years in D9211 we have two Rotary Family Health Days (RFHD) in October and April every Rotary year.Every Club gives free treatment in Communities. We get support from the Rotary Country Office, the central Government and cooperate bodies. We use the opportunity to mobilize people to donate blood. This has helped a lot to increase blood in Hospitals thus saving lives.

People to recognize are PDG Stephen Mwanje who initiated the RFHD in the District and PDG Emmanuel Katongole for the idea and mobilizing funds to build the Blood Bank.
The challenge we had is the abrupt death of RIPE Sam Owori. He was the Father of Rotary in our District whom all were looking forward to becoming the RI President come year 2018/19.May His Soul Rest In Peace.
In my Club of Bweyogerere  Namboole where iam the IPP/ASP we achieved a lot and we were recognized and Awarded in the recent DCA for being a 100% TRF Giving and also having the best Youth Programs of year 2016/2017 in the District.
