Jan. 15, 2014 (LBT) - Wellawatte Nithyakalyani Jewellery together with Rotary Club of Colombo East will be organizing a mega blood and eye donation campaign on January 19 at the Wellawatte Nithyakalyani office further extending its duty to support the needy at large. The blood donation campaign is open to all its employees, Rotary members, Rotaractors and Interactors as well as the general public.

A. P. Jayarajah, CEO, Nithyakalyani said, “We treat this project as our service and commitment to the needy society and we are happy to initiate such an event together with the Rotary Club of Colombo East, eye bank and the blood bank of Sri Lanka”.

The company is currently involved in another social project tagged 'Little Library'. The company has identified a needy school in Gampola and will help with the construction of a library jointly with the Rotary Club of Colombo East and Children’s Uplifting Movement (CUP).

Speaking about the company plans, Jayarajah said, “We have further invested over Rs.10 million this year and got down the latest technology from Italy to provide our customers the best laser cut and engraved products. The product will give opportunities for new designs and help our new talent to utilize this technology to offer the best to our customers”.

Wellawatte Nithyakalyani has an employee base of over 150, including customer support. With its beginning in 1978 with 3 employees Nithyakalyani has become a leader in the Sri Lankan Jewellery market with focus on Diamond Jewellery, Platinum Jewellery, Gem Stone Jewellery. The company includes a fully functioning factory with over 65 technicians. The company started exporting in late 90s further expanding its horizons into the international market, to countries like UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Denmark and Dubai.
